Visiting the remarkable Thrombolites at the picturesque Lake Thetis is an opportunity not to be missed. Enjoy a walk around the 1.5 kilometre lake, closely related to stromatolites - the oldest 'living' fossil in the world at 3.5 billion years old - thrombolites are believed to be over 3,000 years old.

The Jurien Bay Marine Park is located 200 to 300 kilometres north of Perth by road. It extends south from Green Head to the southern boundary of Nambung National Park (Wedge Island) and encompasses many of the islands located in this region.

The extraordinary ancient rock formations that make up the Pinnacles are located about a three-hour drive north of Perth near the coastal town of Cervantes. Regarded as one of Australia's most unique landscapes, these incredible limestone spiers rise eerily out of the sand, some several metres tall.

To get up close to inquisitive wild Sea Lions head to Jurien Bay about a three hour drive north of Perth. Take a sea lion watching cruise and you'll find these graceful swimmers love to show off in front of the camera. The Australian sea lion is the world's rarest species - it's believed there are less than 12,000 remaining along the country's southern coastline.
