Batavia Coast Outdoor Adventure

From windsurfing, fishing and diving to abseiling, hiking or just a relaxing walk on white sandy beaches, the Batavia Coast caters for any level of excitement.

For the outdoor enthusiasts who love to soak up the wonders of nature, be amazed at the grace of water birds or get up close and examine the intricacies of wildflowers, then the tracks and trails of the Batavia Coast are sure to impress.

Geraldton is an excellent point to launch your venture into the region's hinterland, where self-drive trails known as the Outback Pathways traverse through the Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne areas. This series of three trails use interpretive signage to open your eyes to the wonders of the ancient landcape.

The Kalbarri National Park abounds with opportunities and is one of the most exciting and spectacular in Western Australia. Experience the thrills of abseiling in the Z-Bend Gorge or simply marvel at nature's ability to transform the landscape.
Kalbarri offers a host of activities including canoeing and hiking in the river gorges, boat charters for whale watching to river or sunset cruises. Horseriding, camel treks, paddleboats and dinghy hire are also available.

The extensive coastline of Australia's Coral Coast is a haven for divers in search of underwater tales of treasure, mutiny and survival. The Abrolhos Islands Wallabi Group was the scene of the infamous Batavia mutiny in 1629.

The beautiful beaches of Dongara and the protected bays of the Port Denison Marina are ideal locations for families and provide perfect conditions for all sorts of water sports, from swimming and relaxing on the beach to sailing and windsurfing.
