Coral Bay

Coral Bay is a marine paradise.  Its name says it all, dazzling underwater gardens start just metres from pristine white beaches, the backdrop to a tiny, laid back seaside town.

Just a two hour flight from Perth, Coral Bay is the southern gateway to the world renowned Ningaloo Reef. There are so many ways to explore the reef and all its wonders and with beach weather year round it really is a favourite for travellers young and old.

Coral Bay offers a host of land and sea adventures to suite everyone. Experience the vibrant colours and marine interaction of the Ningaloo Reef from the comfort of a glass bottom boat or sea kayak.  Alternatively grab some snorkelling or scuba diving gear and immerse yourself in nature's underwater beauty. Explore the beaches with four-wheel motorbike hire or be amazed at the reef's beauty from a scenic flight above. A variety of tours and hire are available from Coral Bay.

If it's marine interaction your after there's no shortage at Coral Bay. A major highlight is to swim with the world's largest fish, the Whale Shark, visiting the area from March to June annually. Alternatively hop aboard a catamaran to see the humpback whales, dugongs, manta rays and turtles.

A reef shark nursery can be found just 20 minutes walk from Main Beach. From October to March watch as up to 200 reef sharks frolic in the shallow waters.  Head down to the local beach 3.30pm daily to feed the schools of norwest snapper that swim into shore.

In March and April divers and snorklers can witness  the amazing coral spawning, when coral releases eggs and sperm into the surrounding ocean.

Coral Bay also offers some of the best game fishing in the world, with deep sea bottom fishing and light game fishing tours as well as beach fishing on offer.
