Natural Wonders of Australia's Coral Coast

Australia's Coral Coast is so rich in natural beauty that a trip to its magical shores never fails to provide an insight into nature and its incredible design.

Starting in the south at Cervantes, the limestone structures known as the Pinnacles rise up to five metres high, forming a surreal setting in the glow of the late afternoon sun and offer a fascinating insight into a series of natural processes that contributed to their formation.

The stromatolites in Hamelin Pool at Shark Bay look unassuming enough but have helped unlock the secrets of life on earth. They are formed by millions of living microbes similar to those found in 3500 year old rocks, which are the earliest form of life ever recorded.

Feel the shells beneth your feet as you walk along Shell Beach in Shark Bay  - the snow-white beach made up of millions of tiny shells.

70kms north of Carnarvon, the Blow Holes form a natural spectacle as waves are forced though sea caves before exploding out through holes in the rock.

Inland areas are just as spectacular especially during the wildflower season around June to October. Bushland explodes into a carpet of brilliant colour as wildflower blanket the region.
