Humpback whales migrate between summer breeding grounds in the North West Shelf and winter feeding grounds in the Antarctic. The seasonal migrations of the humpbacks regularly appear in the coastal waters of Australia's Coral Coast at Kalbarri and the Ningaloo Marine Park from June to November.
Kalbarri offers some of the best vantage points at sites such as the Natural Bridge, Eagle Gorge and Red Bluff.
These playful creatures can be watched from the shore or visitors can enjoy one of the many tours on offer by local operators in Kalbarri, Coral Bay or Exmouth.
