Pearls and Plates is the first food and music festival on the Houtman Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Western Australia.
Pearls and Plates will be held on the weekend of the 17th and 18th April 2021, on Post Office island, one of the southern group of the Abrolhos.
Two stunning long table lunches will be served overlooking the lagoon on the southern point of Post Office Island. Celebrity chef Anna Gare and award winning chef Guy Jeffreys will delight the guests with incredible local seafood delicacies. The culinary journey will be paired with world class Margaret River wines. To accompany such a feast, we'll need some seriously smooth tunes, and we're lucky enough to have TILLY KAY and guests bringing her soulful soundscape to Pearls and Plates. Guests can walk around the lagoon tasting canapés and sipping signature Campari cocktails.
The award winning WA photographer, Nic Duncan, will present her Abrolhos photographic exhibition and the historic Dutch wreck secrets of Pelsaert Group will be revealed.
A unique event in the Abrolhos archipelago, that perfectly compliments the island's natural settings. The Abrolhos Islands and their surrounding coral reef communities form one of Western Australia's unique marine areas. The Islands lie about 60 kilometres west of Geraldton, on the Western Australian coast, and consist of 122 islands clustered into three main groups: the Wallabi Group, Easter Group and Pelsaert Group, they extend from north to south across 100 kilometres of ocean.
Discover the natural gems of the sea, LIDDON PEARLS, at the first and only boutique gallery in the Abrolhos Islands and understand the art of culturing pearls. For four generations the Liddon family have fished for lobsters, in 1999 started a pearl farm in the water surrounding Post Office Island on the Southern Group of the Abrolhos. The pearl farm has become a great attraction for the growing tourism market. At Post Office Island the guests can learn how we grow pearls and visit our small jewellery gallery. Jane is an artist and painter, she creates one of a kind silver pieces with her personal jeweller artisan. Michela has a background in design and has worked in the fashion industry in Europe and Asia, she has designed the collection working with Italian artisans to ensure the best quality of workmanship. Jesse and Sam grow and select the finest pearls from the harvest. Together we create collections of essential elegance that represents our eclectic taste and history.
