Francois Peron National Park is an ideal destination for bush-camping, four-wheel driving, bush-walking and beach fishing, along with swimming and boating within the Shark Bay Marine Park.

Originally a pearling camp in the late 1880s, Herald Bight is now an informal campsite with toilets provided as basic facilities.

Campers are advised to be self-reliant and to bring enough drinking water for the duration of their stay.

This camping area is accessible only by high-clearance four-wheel drives. Tyre pressures must be reduced for the soft sand conditions. Caravans are not recommended due to the narrow and soft sand tracks.

Bookings do not apply at this campground. It operates on a first come - first served basis.

Park entry fees apply.

Tourists are advised to check for alerts and road/park closures before commencing their travel on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au.
