From Ningaloo Marine Park to Cape Range National Park, Ningaloo offers both marine and terrestrial natural wonders. No wonder Ningaloo earned its UNESCO World Heritage listing back in 2011.

As a base for further exploration, visitors will find a warm welcome in the coastal towns of Exmouth, Coral Bay and Carnarvon. Covering 300km Ningaloo stretches far and wide - from Red Bluff in the South, the Muiron Islands in the North, and Bundegi Beach in the East.

Ningaloo also serves as a natural gateway to many other awe-inspiring Western Australian regions. The Kennedy Range National Park is just a 3-hour drive east of Carnarvon; Onslow is 4-hour drive north from Exmouth and the Mackerel Islands, a 35 minute flight from Exmouth. A 6.5-hour drive east from Exmouth reveals Western Australia’s second largest national park, Karijini National Park.

Whale Shark season is fast approaching

The Ningaloo Reef comes alive during whale shark season, as these gentle giants migrate along the coastline to feed on rich plankton blooms. Whale sharks are typically sighted from late March through to July, however, in recent years, the season has extended, with regular sightings continuing into late October and even early November.

Licensed tour operators in Exmouth and Coral Bay offer guided whale shark experiences, providing visitors with one of the world’s most reliable opportunities to see and swim alongside the largest fish in the ocean. All interactions are carefully managed under strict regulations to protect both the whale sharks and Ningaloo Reef’s pristine, World Heritage‑listed environment.
