Regional Express (Rex) is now flying the Perth – Carnarvon / Monkey Mia route with fares now on sale.
This announcement will serve as a much-needed tourism boost to the Coral Coast region, for passengers and residents of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and Carnarvon. These areas are best known for the Monkey Mia dolphins and Carnarvon’s seafood, fruit and vegetable industry.
Having a seasoned aviation operator like Rex take on this route will see an immediate improvement in leisure numbers visiting the Coral Coast region.
The flight schedule which started July 2018 has Community Fares from AUD $157. There will be 25% of inventory made available at $157, if booked 60+ days in advance, with all remaining unsold seats being made available within 1 day prior to departure.
With the route takeover by Rex, bookings can now be made via travel agents. Additionally Rex holds a baggage agreement with Virgin Airlines (Rex will operate out of Perth Airport's T2 terminal), ensuring luggage can be checked all the way through to Monkey Mia / Carnarvon from east coast/domestic flights.
Rex will operate 12 weekly return services between Perth and Carnarvon and 6 weekly return services between Perth and Monkey Mia (appendix). This is a 20% increase in flight frequency for Carnarvon and a 50% increase in flight frequency for Monkey Mia in comparison to the current flight frequency offered by the incumbent.
Flights on sale now via www.rex.com.au or book via your local travel agent.
