Vlamingh Head Lighthouse offers spectacular views of Ningaloo Reef and is a great vantage point to witness the famous Western Australian sunset. It's also one of the few places in Western Australia where you can watch both sunrise and sunset over the ocean.
The Vlamingh Head Lighthouse Scenic Drive offers breathtaking views of the North West Cape as you drive up to Vlamingh Head. Take a walk around the outside of the lighthouse and check out the interpretive displays while soaking up panoramic views of the ocean and Cape Range National Park. Just below the lighthouse is the site of World War II radar station and anti-aircraft positions. If you're visiting between July and October, keep an eye out for migrating humpback whales from your vantage point on the hill.
Vlamingh Head Lighthouse is situated near Exmouth, a 15 hour drive north of Perth. Flights from Perth to nearby Learmonth Airport depart daily and take just under two hours.
