Plan before you go

Things to consider

Make sure you check weather and terrain conditions and pack plenty of water before you embark on an outdoor adventure. Keep up-to-date with the latest warnings and advice via the Parks and Recreation page or check in with the local Visitor Centre for up to date information regarding the area. It's important to remember that phone signal may be limited on some trails and hikes so ensure you have all the essentials before you go. Australia's Coral Coast can get notoriously hot during the warmer months so we recommend checking the weather ahead of your hike and plan to walk in the earlier morning or evening to beat the heat.

Essential Items

  • Hydration - minimum 1L of water
  • Sun protection - hat and sunscreen
  • Appropriate footwear and weather appropriate clothing
  • High-energy snacks and a packed lunch (for longer hikes)
  • Basic first aid supplies
  • Most importantly....your camera!

Every hike is different so your list may vary depending on the terrain, environment, weather and the length of your planned adventure.
