Geraldton Port sits on the stunning Batavia Coast, famous for its rich maritime history and world-class windsurfing, diving, snorkelling and fishing. Just 60-kilometres off the shore lies one of the world’s best kept secrets - the 122 coral-fringed islands of the Abrolhos. Visit between July and October, and you’ll also catch one of the greatest wildflower shows on Earth.

It’s an easy one-kilometre walk from Geraldton Port to the town centre. For scenic flights, take a 15-minute taxi ride to Geraldton airport. Or you can take an extended cruise from the port to the Abrolhos Islands.

This is the place to spot rare Australian sea lions, playful bottlenose dolphins, migrating humpback whales and over 35 species of birds that breed on the Abrolhos Islands. You can even extend your scenic flight to include Shark Bay World Heritage Area, or the spectacular gorges of Kalbarri National Park.

From Geraldton town centre, join volunteer guides for a tour of the HMAS Sydney II Memorial, and remember the 645 men who lost their lives aboard the vessel in WWII. Or immerse yourself in maritime history, discovering the tragic tales of the Batavia, Zuytdorp and Zeewijk shipwrecks at the WA Museum Geraldton.
