Francois Peron National Park is an ideal destination for bush camping, four-wheel driving, bushwalking and beach fishing, along with swimming and boating within the Shark Bay Marine Park.
South Gregories is a small campground set in low, sparse coastal scrub close to the beach with access to the beach for swimming and launching kayaks, canoes, SUPs and small boats (over very soft sand).
Campers need to be self-reliant at South Gregories, as facilities are basic. There is no drinking water so ensure you bring enough for your stay.
Fishing is popular and whiting, bream and kingfish can all be caught in the area. Dinghies can be launched from the beach with care.
This camping area is accessible only by high-clearance four-wheel drives. Tyre pressures must be reduced for the soft sand conditions. Caravans are not recommended due to the narrow and soft sand tracks.
Bookings will apply for 1 April 2026. Until then first come, first served. Camping fees apply.
Park entry fees apply.
