Where to Camp: Top Campgrounds

Osprey Bay Campground
1 hour drive | 78.6km to Exmouth Town

A medium-sized campground set beside the Osprey Sanctuary Zone in Ningaloo Marine Park. There’s beach access for launching small boats and kayaks (4WD required), and the shoreline is designated as a special purpose zone where shore-based fishing is allowed. The campground has 46 unpowered sites, with generator use permitted only in the northern section. Facilities include no-flush pit toilets along with both sheltered and open picnic tables and benches. Th Osprey Campground is a haven for local turtles, often seen in the waters nearby. A dedicated snorkel zone just off the coast can be explored by boat or kayak, offering a unique and intimate marine experience.

Yardie Creek Campground
1 hour and 5 minute drive | 87.5km to Exmouth Town
Located at the southern tip of Cape Range National Park, right by the stunning Yardie Creek Gorge and a great spot for birdwatching. This small campground features 10 reverse-in compacted sand sites of varying sizes. All sites are unpowered, and no-flush pit toilets are provided. You can also launch small boats from the Tardie Creek mouth (*note: very soft sand).

Kurrajong Campground
53 minute drive | 70.7km to Exmouth Town
Tucked between coastal sand dunes and only a 150-metre walk from the beach, Kurrajong Campground offers a medium-sized setup with 35 reverse-in compacted gravel sites. All sites are unpowered, and facilities include no-flush pit toilets along with picnic tables and benches.

Neds Campground and Picnic Area
37 minute drive | 49.0km from Exmouth Town
A small campground nestled behind sand dunes along a long, narrow stretch of sandy beach. It offers 9 sand-surface campsites that vary in size and shape due to the natural beach setting. All sites are unpowered, and facilities include a no-flush pit toilet plus picnic tables and benches.

North Mandu Campground
49 minute drive | 65.8km from Exmouth Town
A small campground located beside the Mandu Sanctuary Zone in Ningaloo Marine Park. It features 5 compacted gravel sites of varying sizes. All sites are unpowered, and a no-flush pit toilet is provided.

Bungarra Campground
1 hour drive | 79km from Exmouth Town
Small and secluded, Bungarra Campground offers just 5 reverse-in compacted gravel sites. It’s a 600-metre walk from a special purpose zone of Ningaloo Marine Park where shore-based fishing is allowed. A no-flush pit toilet is provided.

Mesa Campground
38 minute drive | 49.8km from Exmouth Town
Mesa is a medium-sized campground set beside a recreation zone of Ningaloo Marine Park, with beach access for launching small boats and kayaks (4WD required). It offers 23 reverse-in, compacted gravel campsites, all unpowered and suitable for large motorhomes and fifth-wheel caravans. Facilities include no-flush pit toilets plus picnic tables and benches.

One K Campground
1 hour and 10 minute drive | 89.1km from Exmouth Town
A small campground with just 7 reverse-in sand sites of varying sizes, located about 1 km south of the Yardie Creek crossing and accessible only by four-wheel drive. All sites are unpowered, and a no-flush pit toilet is provided. Note: there must be a low tide to cross Yardie Creek in order to access this campground.

Boat Harbour Campground
1 hour and 4 minute drive | 87.5km from Exmouth Town
A small campground featuring just 5 reverse-in sand campsites, located 3 km south of Yardie Creek and accessible only by four-wheel drive. Set beside a recreation zone of Ningaloo Marine Park, it also provides a no-flush pit toilet. Note: there must be a low tide in order to cross Yardie Creek to access this campground.

Tulki Beach Campground
44 minute drive | 58.4km from Exmouth Town
Tulki Beach is a small campground located beside the Mandu Sanctuary Zone of Ningaloo Marine Park and is the closest campground to the stunning Turquoise Bay. It offers 11 reverse-in, unpowered compacted gravel sites, with no-flush pit toilets available.

How to Book

Bookings must be made via the Park Stay WA website and all bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for one campsite only. Bookings open at 12am AWST and it is highly recommended to have an account created and ready to go when you attempt to make a booking. The maximum stay in any park is 14 nights if any night is during Western Australia public school holidays, 28 nights at any other time. A per person camping fee and a per vehicle park entry fee apply.

Important notice - due to the increase in demand, Park Stay WA are trialling a new booking process for all campsites along the Ningaloo Coast for a three month period. Bookings will open monthly at 10am (AWST), instead of daily at midnight. Bookings for stays between Monday 3 August and Thursday 27 August 2026 will open at 10am (AWST) on 3 February 2026. Know Before You Go

  • Book online through WA Parks—every campground requires a reservation
  • No showers or drinking water in the campgrounds
  • Limited phone reception, so download maps and info beforehand
  • Bring plenty of water, shade and snacks – be sure to check your campground distance from town when requiring a top up
  • Respect the wildlife – they come out at dawn and dusk so drive carefully
  • No dogs are permitted in Cape Range National Park
  • National Park fees apply per person and per vehicle, more information here
  • The Milyeering Centre – a range of audio and visual displays, brochures and a gift store with WIFI also available
  • Protect the environment – please drive on designated tracks only and avoid sand dunes
  • Four-Wheel Driving - drive slowly, respect conditions on the day and avoid driving at night. Always drive slowly on coastal off-road tracks and keep speed on beaches to 20km/h.
